omg... my last day is the 24th of this month. Wow. Just wow. Has it really been almost four years? Almost feels longer then that. But in a good way.
I know the AI gets a bad rep for whatever reason but I don't regret choosing it as my school. I've made a lot of friends and learned a lot along my way. Things like how much I hate modeling in Maya but I'm fine animating in it. I might never be a character designer but give me a background or set design project and I'm so there! Things like that.
As people in the family find out I'm getting closer to graduating they keep asking me what in Utah can I do? Really there isn't a whole lot.
We have an EA Games branch here (who I will never work for because how badly they treat their employees), Disney Interactive has a branch out there that works mostly on their Disney Infinity, I know we have two other games studios but I cannot for the life of me remember their names. o.o
As for animation, there's Too Many Legs animation and a few other smaller companies and they all do mostly commercials and stuff. Everything else is out of state. I fully expect to end up in Cali at one point or another but I'm not making that move until I for sure have a job out there. I'm not going to play the 'can I afford to make rent and eat this week?' game. No thank you. And especially not with my cat. Hell no.
So we shall see where this storyboard artist/illustrator/visual development/animator ends up. Wish me luck!My TumblrMy Vimeo My YouTube My FanFics
